AMA BRIBE HIDDEN IN OBAMA’S “JOBS” BILL
February 11th, 2010 admin
Remember the “doctor fix,” the multi-billion bribe for the American Medical Association that got voted down in the Senate last year? Well, it’s baaaaaaaack. The Dems have stashed it in the “jobs” bill: On page 107, the program delays a scheduled reduction in doctors’ payments under Medicare. As I wrote last October in the American Spectator, this is the AMA’s price for supporting Obamacare.

As I wrote in this AmSpec piece last year, the AMA’s support of Obamacare was all about the Benjamins. The goal was a reprieve from big cuts in Medicare payments to doctors, and that’s what they

In the Final Rule updating the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) for calendar year 2010, CMS adopted an update of -21.2 percent. MPFS...
Student loans appear to be a health overhaul headache: the reconciliation bill is going back to the House for a vote, thanks to Senate Republicans who found two provisions in the document — including one related to student loans — that violate its rules and can’t be included in the final bill.
